Shayne King-Scobie
Shayne King-Scobie, a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, discovered his passion for massage during his own recovery from an injury. Limited in his yoga practice due to chronic pain, he found relief through massage therapy and was inspired to pursue it himself.
King-Scobie Massage is dedicated to providing effective treatment to all, including those with limited mobility. Having cared for a homebound family member, Shayne understands the need for accessible care and offers both in-clinic and mobile services.
Our Fraser Valley clinic is wheelchair accessible, quiet, and spacious, offering a comfortable setting for treatment and home-care guidance. For those unable to travel, our mobile services bring expert therapy directly to you.

FAQs
Do you have any specialty or focus?
If you’re looking for help to feel better in your body, I can be your RMT.
Massage Therapy is regulated by the College of Complementary Health Practitioners of BC. Someone who has successfully completed the required training and passed the board exams can practice as a Registered Massage Therapist. The specific techniques used for any given treatment will depend on the client and their condition. We highlight some of the more common issues treated by an RMT:
- Musculoskeletal issues and injuries- involving muscle, tendons, and ligaments as sprains and strains, as well as skin, fascia, and joint mobilization;
- Scar tissue mobilization and arthritis;
- Conditions of central nervous systems including Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s Disease (PD), and Stroke and spinal cord injury;
- Conditions of peripheral nervous system including Bell’s Palsy, Nerve Lesions (crush injury most commonly – i.e. meralgia parasthetica (pain in thigh);
- Conditions of Joint and Joint Function including TMJ (jaw & bite issues), frozen shoulder, tennis/golf elbow, and knee arthritis;
- Postural dysfunction: plantar fasciitis of feet, dowager’s hump (head forward posture), “tech neck” or “student syndrome”, and whiplash;
- Conditions limiting natural range of motion including ME/CFS, Cerebral Palsy, anyone wheelchair-bound or bed-bound.
- Conditions related to stress such as headaches and migraines and sore muscles.
What should I expect during my first session?
In your first session I will take a thorough history and complete a physical assessment to determine the best course of action for your particular needs. The history and assessment will take up to twenty minutes. The remaining time in a session will focus on treatment and review of home-exercises.
What should I expect during subsequent sessions?
In sessions after your first intake, I will check in on your home-care and ask about any pain felt post-treatment. I will also address any comments or concerns and then move into regular treatment. Some conditions will require periodic assessment while others do not.
Do you use any products?
We aim for a hypoallergenic clinic. We use only hypoallergenic massage lotions. We value a “low to no scent” environment. When needed, we use hydrotherapy (ice and heat) with a Hydroculator: hot, heavy clay packs wrapped in towel for heat penetration in deep tissues
What is your cancellation policy?
We will do our best to accommodate changes but request 36 hours notice for cancelled appointments. As a small business our livelihood depends on clients honouring their appointments. We can provide grace for a first mistake but will invoice for the full treatment cost for subsequent missed appointments.
Can you direct bill my insurance?
At this time, we are unable to offer direct billing. However, we are actively working on making this an option in the future. In the meantime, you can submit a claim to your insurance provider after payment.
Can I pay by credit card
We are unable to offer credit card payments at this time.
